PROJECT

When the W.E. ARE NEXT was presented with an opportunity for grant funding, they called on INNOVATIVE’s expert storytelling to showcase their impact to the review committee. We produced a three-part video suite that clearly communicates the program’s mission and vision for use in grant applications and beyond. In the long-term, these videos will help champion this transformational program, as it shapes and uplifts the next generation of women leaders in sports and events.

Now more than ever, women executives are shaping the sports industry, elevating Indianapolis and the state of Indiana as a premier destination for world-class sporting events. Yet despite their success, women often face barriers to visibility, confidence, and opportunity that their male counterparts do not.

Recognizing this reality, Indiana Sports Corp and Bloombase came together to create W.E. ARE NEXT (Women Executives Are Next). This immersive leadership program equips women in Indiana’s sports and events industry with the confidence, tools, and community they need to claim their voice and step into executive-level roles in sports and events.

But in order to scale the program, they needed a way to showcase the importance of W.E. ARE NEXT to grantmaking organizations. Their team turned to INNOVATIVE for help designing an application submission that would be more meaningful than just a series of slides.

We brought their mission to life with a series of videos that help promote the program to potential investors and supporters.

INNOVATIVE worked alongside Indiana Sports Corp and Bloombase to design a three-part video suite that would not only fulfill the grant application criteria, but also have use as an evergreen marketing tool.

Our team began by interviewing program leaders, participants, and women executives in sports about the W.E. ARE NEXT program and its impact on the industry. These voices—combined with immersive visuals filmed during a live session—allowed the videos to capture not just what the program is, but how it feels to be part of the experience.

Then, we tailored each video to serve a specific purpose, ensuring that all three worked together as a cohesive storytelling package. Two of the videos were designed to support an upcoming grant application, with strict runtime and content requirements:

SOLUTION VIDEO

This video explains why the W.E. ARE NEXT program matters and how it uniquely addresses the barriers women face in the sports and events industry. It also outlines their measurable impact and long-term vision for empowering women executives across Indiana.

The third deliverable was a long-form promotional video created to support future cohort recruitment and ongoing program awareness. Produced in both 16×9 and 9×16 formats, the video was optimized for both internal use and social platforms where vertical viewing is most common.

Our storytelling will help W.E. ARE NEXT prepare more women executives to become recognized leaders in the sports industry.

Through strategic storytelling, these videos position W.E. ARE NEXT as more than a leadership program. It’s a movement dedicated to amplifying women’s voices, building their confidence, and expanding access to opportunity within the sports and events industry.

By centering real stories and lived experiences, the impact of these videos will extend well beyond the project itself. They will serve as enduring tools to elevate awareness, generate support, and champion a program that is making a lasting impact on the next generation of women leaders in our community.
