Our team helped welcome the first-of-its-kind TEDSports conference to Indianapolis.
There are very few symbols that are more iconic than the bold red TED letters. The TED Talks brand is known for transforming any ordinary stage into a platform of inspiration, education, and advocacy across every industry sector. And for the debut of their new TEDSports conference, the TED team decided there was no better host than Indianapolis—one of the nation’s greatest sports cities.
This star-studded event was over a year in the making, as our team collaborated with Dodd Technologies and Indiana Sports Corp to set an exceptional standard for future TEDSports events. Together, we successfully produced 28 talks and 3 panels on pivotal topics in sports, from competition judging driven by AI technology to the impact of immigration policies on Olympians.
We built a bold stage design to elevate each speaker’s bright ideas.
The iconic TED sign is a staple of their usual stage design—but our team developed a suite of dynamic on-screen graphics to help level up the venue and ensure every speaker shined on stage. We worked with our long-time partners at Dodd Technologies to develop multiple concepts for the conference, offering unique yet practical solutions to transform the stage into a visual spectacle.
The selected design featured a custom-built 46’ 10” x 26’ screen with a unique curvature to fit the stage, creating a stunning, luminous background for each speaker. But more than just the stage design, our team also delivered the graphics for the entire event, creating over 190 unique elements to keep audiences engaged and excited.
Exceptionally executed events require adaptable event partners.
Our team boasts a rich history of live event production, managing much more behind the scenes than the audience will ever see on stage. From camera placement and stage blocking to presentation layouts and run-of-shows, we ensure that our partners’ events are executed seamlessly—in both aesthetics and logistics.
For a large-scale event like TEDSports, that experience and adaptability is crucial, especially when sourcing high-demand speakers from around the world. Our run-of-show was packed with major players like WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, NCAA’s President Charlie Baker, and Google’s Global Marketing Director Kate Johnson.
But busy people come with busy schedules. In fact, several speakers were confirmed just days before the conference due to ongoing visa processing and scheduling conflicts. Our team has to be prepared to pivot at any moment and provide solutions to any logistical needs.
Leading up to the event, our team even helped source some of our speakers, contributing valuable connections such as Jennifer Crank (World-Renowned Dog Agility Competitor), Warren Keller (Gallaudet University Athletic Director & Advocate for the Hearing Impaired), and Angelo Pizzo (Legendary Screenwriter & Film Producer).
Our work continued long after the curtains closed.
Following the conference, our partnership with TEDSports Indianapolis extended into a year-long post-production process, as we were tasked to complete the editing and delivery of all 28 talks.
We began with priority edits for the top five video and podcast releases, including:
- Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Chief Content Officer, WWE
- Kate Johnson, Global Marketing Director, Google
- Troy Vincent Sr., EVP of Football Operations, NFL
- Richard Felton-Thomas, COO & Director of Sport Science, ai.io
- Jennifer Crank, World-Renowned Dog Agility Competitor & Instructor
The response from online audiences has been amazing to see. The talks have already garnered over one million views through releases on the TED website alone. As additional talks are released, we can’t wait for more TED Talk fans to experience the incredible stories told here in Indianapolis that will help shape the future of the sports industry.
