For Indy Ignite's inaugural season, we turned the team’s mantra "Ignite the Fire" into their first in-season campaign. This included the design and development of new social media templates, as well as the production of all in-arena video elements.

We helped Indy’s newest professional sports team “Ignite the Fire” during their inaugural season.

During Brand Development for Indy Ignite, we created a team mantra that embodied their mission to “Ignite the Fire” of women’s volleyball. For their inaugural season, INNOVATIVE recommended that the Ignite team use this mantra as the season-wide campaign to build general brand awareness and teach fans how to engage with the team.

Once we decided on Ignite the Fire, we began designing new ways to expand the brand visuals, adapting the foundational brand look for use in the arena, on social media, and more.

CAMPAIGN STYLE FRAMES

We designed social media templates that balanced the need for ultra-quick updates with a sophisticated visual look.

Social media is where these seasonal campaigns show up the biggest and brightest, so that’s where our creative team started campaign development. We developed a suite of templated graphics designed for easy updates, so the Indy Ignite team can quickly prepare posts during games.

These cross-channel templates helped elevate the brand with a sleek, consistent look across their social media, while refreshing their everyday brand visuals with new elements unique to the Ignite the Fire campaign.

 

SOCIAL MEDIA TEMPLATES

We produced a high-energy arena open to light up the Fishers Event Center with every match.

During media day, we captured a wide range of video assets featuring the players posing on green screen. This footage became the building blocks for a powerful, two-part arena open, as well as a series of fan prompts to use throughout the season.

The two-part open began by telling the story of women’s volleyball in Indiana, celebrating Indy Ignite as the next chapter in sports history. Then, we transitioned into a high-energy edit revealing each player on the team. We incorporated our Ignite the Fire campaign look with the animated fuse lines, building tension and excitement throughout the piece.

And after opening night, we were able to update the open to include match highlights, elevating the energy of the piece even higher.

ARENA OPEN

Photography is the cornerstone of any great campaign.

As with any professional sports media day, we captured a lot of standard photos over white that can be used as cutout images across all marketing channels. These cutout images are critical to a team’s success throughout the season, providing ready-made imagery for quick-turn creative assets.

In addition to image cutouts, we utilized our time with the players to capture images that match the campaign look, using blue and orange light over a dark background. The Ignite players loved the “high fashion” feel of these stylized photos, and the edited images were such a hit, the team requested additional edits beyond the original ask.
